“If you know me, you know I love to travel and I don’t go to conferences for the content. I go purely to see the people.” I like this quote and find myself doing the same.

Hopefully we can power into SXSW with a larger Carolina contingent this
year. There was a core group of us last year, but there were way too many
smart NC folks unable to make the trip.

Seems like a pretty good approach to me. I hate the feeling of sitting in a session and being let down by mediocre content. I'd much rather be in the hallway having a beer and learning from interesting people. I wish I had the dinero to attend more events, but in the interim I'll just plan my trip to #sxsw '10 where I'll invariably run off to chat up UT co-eds.
