Social Media is Just a Hobby

Social Fresh Nashville 2010Jason Falls delivers a little Gary Vaynerchuk impersonation at Social Fresh Nashville, a social media conference for marketers.

A good portion of Social Fresh spoke to what social media can really do for business, including Jason’s talk on “Moving the Needle, Social Media for the Bottom Line”.

In the quick video above, taken at the Social Fresh photo opp zone, Jason recaps why the social media purists (dirty hippies and treehuggers) do not get that if social media is not making you money, it is just a hobby.

  • Well said both Jasons. ;P

I am seriously considering coming to a Social Fresh Conference, but am unable to at the current time as I am in the midst of college work. Sounds like alot of good things happening there....

Yeah, there are alot of "hippies" out there who would have you believe otherwise, but in order for this industry to go anywhere and become viable, we need to grow up and start treating this as a business. Only then will the next thing happen. :)
  • Thanks Taylor. We do have a 50% student discount. If that can help at all,
shoot me an email jason [at] socialfresh.com
  • Will do. Are there any near Indy or Milwaukee, WI in the near future? I may be able to attend those... :)
  • Ha, nothing planned for Wisconsin right now. Though Minneapolis is on our
    long term target list.
  • Awesome. How about Indiana? If you are looking for a speaker and you happen to be in the Wisconsin/Chicago/Indianapolis area, I would love to speak.
