Love + Soccer = Beautiful Viral Video
Let’s look beyond the fact that I love soccer and the fact that I am filled with deep, deep anticipatory joy for this summer’s World Cup action. The juxtaposition in this Puma video of rough UK football hooligans singing some harmonizing a cappella is simply magnetic. It pulls you in from the first moment and holds you there until you beg them to show you their logo. Great stuff. I watched it a few times.
For those of you who hate soccer, move along, there is nothing for you here. You cannot be helped.
Jason Bourne vs. Jack Bauer

I asked Twitter the other day, “Who would win in a fight between Jason Bourne and Jack Bauer [link]” (because that is the kind of dorky stuff I like to do on Twitter).
The answer was obviously Chuck Norris (as pointed out by Michael Wouri).

The Chuck Norris facts are some of the funniest and longest running internet memes that I know of.
It got me thinking. Would you not love to be the 3rd answer in these conversations as a business?
Not the 3rd best, but the unique brand in your arena, the purple cow as Seth Godin would say. The brand that people bring up to break a mold, the trump a conversation, to make the conversation more interesting.
Beyond starting a 5 year long hilarious self-perpetuating internet meme, what are your options? Being sexy is not always the answer. Jason Bourne and Jack Bauer are well known badasses from their respective Hollywood domains. But Chuck, he has an empire of fans devoted to his remarkable nature. He is different. Remarkable.
Remarkable scales.
My First Vlog, Awwwww
The dreaded “intro” video for the launch of my little venture into vlogging (video blogging).
No firm goal right now, just playing in the space. Some videos will be informative, some will be silly. But all of it, will be me (big promises I know). Enjoy… or not.

MeTweet
I have definitely done this, no ill will intended here. Just a little fun with words.
MeTweet n. or v. – To republish a tweet by someone else, about you.
It can be a good self promotion tool a slight step down from seeming completely self absorbed. Plus it can serve as a sort of thank you.
Examples
- ChrisBrogan: “Read @chrisbrogan or get smacked down like Hogan”?? @mclinklove has gone over the edge – ck it out http://bit.ly/DYXKl (via @ShellyKramer) View Post
- WayneSutton: “RT @ldbaldwin Guess who is speaking at Wordcamp RDU? @gatewood5000,@jakrose,@waynesutton & many more http://wordcamprdu.com/2009” View Post
- JasonFalls: “RT @edeckers: Attention #Indianapolis social media ppl: You can see @JasonFalls speak next Wednesday for $20. http://bit.ly/Fdza0” View Post
Is MeTweet the best word for this phenomenon? No clue. If you have a better suggestion, by all means, chime in.
Tip: To check someone else’s MeTweets, use this twitter search “@username from:username”. This only works if the person does not talk about themselves alot. It won’t work, for instance, on Gary Vaynerchuk, who ends a lot of tweets with “@GaryVee me“.
Year of the Ox
With the new year, comes big plans, big expectations, and a chance to reinvigorate. In the Chinese Zodiac, 2009 is described as follows
The Ox is the sign of prosperity through fortitude and hard work. This powerful sign is a born leader, being quite dependable and possessing an innate ability to achieve great things. As one might guess, such people are dependable, calm, and modest. Like their animal namesake, the Ox is unswervingly patient, tireless in their work, and capable of enduring any amount of hardship without complaint.
Basically, if you are ready to put the work in, then 2009 is ready for you. I am excited to be working on so many projects that I am passionate about for the new year. Just as an Ox, I am at a place where I need to put my nose down, put hoof to earth, and move forward. With that hard work will come some very cool results .
