Blind Man Becomes First Google Self-Driving Car User
Google loves making videos about projects they are working on. But this one, featuring their first self-driving car user, is a little different.
It pulls on the heart strings for sure. To imagine the autonomy granted to a blind driver by this type of technology is profound. Now, whether it will ever really be legal or not, that is another question.
But bigger than that, is that this makes it look like Google really does want to roll out these cars to the world. It is not just research for research sake.
What does tomorrow look like if Google starts selling self-driving car technology? They are already lobbying states across the country to allow such drivers, with some initial success in Nevada.
